Ceremony Video

With no special effects, titles, or frills, this video briefly demonstrates a documentary-style video.  Three video cameras are used in this video–one from the balcony, one off the right side of the front of the church, and a moving camera on the right side of the sanctuary.  Three cameras thoroughly cover the ceremony from beginning to end.  It is all shot with high-definition video cameras.   Three wireless microphones are used–one on the groom, one on the minister, and one at the podium for the special readers.

The following is a 7-minute summary from a video that was originally 40 minutes.

Luther Memorial Church

Some churches are nicer than others but the Luther Memorial Church stands out on its own.  It is a historic monument to Madison that is over 100 years old.  Its Gothic cathedral -style structure is amazingly beautiful.  Anne and Andrew Naylor had their wedding in Luther Memorial July 11, 2009 and it was another gorgeous day in Madison.    It was a good day all around resulting in beautiful pictures.

Anne & Andy are a happy couple that clearly love each other and their families.  Anne also made it pretty clear going back to their engagement photographs that she also loves photography.  She was very much looking forward to seeing her photographs.

As you can see from most of the following photographs and the one above I have included artistic borders.  Do you prefer the pictures with or  without the borders?

A Fun Shot

July 11, 2009 Andrew and Anne Naylor were married. It was a busy day at the capital with vendors on every street surrounding us because this weekend held the Art Fair on the Square. It is one of Madison’s premiere annual events. Artisans display their works while prospective customers walk around the square enabling them to very quickly sample some of the areas best artistic works. It is a popular event that brings many thousands of people to the downtown area. It also is very noisy.

This shot was suggested by one of the Bridesmaids (I wanted to include their shoes). The women went back to the Capital and then ran toward me. You never really know what you will get with a set up like this but one of the Bridesmaids was especially animated as was caught in this photograph. Its not just that she was leaping but that her head was turned and her mouth open. Every time I look at this picture it makes me laugh.
So what makes a great photograph? In this case it was the bridesmaids, more than willing to run, and one woman in particular who leaped with joy. It was not planned, she just did it spontaneously and it has become one of my favorite photographs of the year.
